About this Villa
There are few spots inland in Andalusia that boast a view over a large expanse of water. This delightful cottage is one of the exceptions! Located in an elevated position it overlooks an impressive reservoir lake and beyond to the castle atop the mountain at the village of “Zahara de la Sierra”. At the lake, one can hire kayaks and in summer this is even possible during certain nights by the light of the full moon – a unique experience!The house is close to the small village of “El Gastor“, at 5 minutes driving. This traditional village remains largely untouched by tourism. It is approximately 25 minutes driving to either Ronda, the village of “Zahara” on the other side of the lake, or the beautiful village of “Grazalema“, set in the middle of a Natural Park. They all have good options for bars and restaurants. It is 1 hour 45 to Málaga, 2 hours to Seville and 2 hours 15 minutes to Gibraltar.

The cottage is simply laid out on two floors. There is a sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs facing an open fireplace. A TV and CD-player are available. The adjacent dining space has a wooden table and 6 chairs. The traditional tiled kitchen is a generous size and is equipped with a gas hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee makers, toaster, citrus press, dishwasher and double sink. There is an adjoining laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. One of them has a double bed and the other has twin beds. There is a shared bathroom with a bath with shower overhead, sink and toilet. The master bedroom is upstairs, it is generously proportioned and has a private terrace with truly magnificent views. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink and toilet. In all the bedrooms, windows have been fitted with mosquito nets. There are terraces around three sides of the house with shady spots for eating, reading or just relaxing. The covered terrace at the back of the house has a large dining table and 6 chairs. A door connects the back terrace to the hallway leading to the kitchen. At the front of the house is a porch with chairs and small tables. A little further from the house is a terrace under the trees and decorated with flower pots. There is another dining table with 6 chairs here and close to this terrace is a large stone barbecue.The pool is close to the house and measures 9 x 5 metres. It has steps as well as a pool ladder for comfortable access. On the terrace next to the pool is a gazebo with side panels of mosquito netting, so you can have a siesta in the open air without any disturbances. At the other side of the pool is a lifted balcony with a table and chairs where the best view is to be had of the lake and the impressive surroundings.
