About this Villa
Las Tres Pilas is a carefully restored, comfortable family house in a stunning setting – full of character and with breath-taking views of the rolling countryside to the distant mountains of North Africa. Located just 1,5 kilometre from the pretty white village of Gaucín, it is possible to go to town on foot. It is an easy walk of around 20 minutes, following the main road. A continuous pavement runs alongside the road, so it is perfectly safe. Midway along the route there is a viewing point where you can enjoy the beautiful sights overlooking the mountaintop village.

The ground floor is open plan, with high beamed ceilings with fans, colourful woven rugs on terracotta floor tiles, giving a feeling of cool spaciousness. Elegant table lamps, antiques and an extensive collection of paintings from around the world add character to this lovely property. To one end of the space is a living area with cream coloured sofas, bright cushions, a coffee table and armchairs around an open fireplace. The house is full of books on Andalucía.At the other end of the space is a second open fireplace, next to the kitchen and dining area. There is a small sofa and armchairs, large TV and a mahogany table and chairs. The pretty, well equipped blue and white painted kitchen has granite work-surfaces, a 4 ring hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and sink. Just behind the kitchen is the utility room with a large fridge/freezer and a washing machine. There is a downstairs bathroom as well.A polished wooden staircase leads up to the three upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious and well decorated with a chaise lounge, antique dressing table, built in wardrobes and pretty floor kilns. French doors with balconies open out on two sides, and there is an en suite, wood-panelled bathroom, with free standing bath, a large walk-in shower, basin, loo and bidet. The other two bedrooms each with twin beds, that can be made up as doubles or singles. These bedrooms have ceiling fans, built in wardrobes, large windows opening out to the countryside beyond and en-suite bathrooms with a walk-in shower, basin and loo.The fourth bedroom is located in a small annexe building with an independent entrance off the courtyard. This room has a double bed, a fine antique wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin and loo. In true Andalucian style, tall, antique wooden double doors, surrounded by blue flowering climbing plumbago welcome you into a pretty, sheltered, cobbled courtyard with a fountain. At the back of the house there is a large wisteria and jasmine covered terrace, which enjoys breath-taking views, and has a dining table with chairs, and also comfortable wicker sofas and a table.From the terrace, steps lead to the gated swimming pool, measuring 10.5 x 5 metres, which has a full filtration system and sunbeds. From here, views to the Crestallina mountain and further on down to the coastline are quite amazing. The gardener comes each morning from Monday to Friday and there is a mid week clean on a Wednesday to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen.‘Noche’ the cat, lives in the garden to see off any unwelcome visitors.
